12 Jun 2018 Up and Downtown Music Festival Announces First Wave of Acts

Tanya Tagaq, SUNNS, Destroyer, Brant Bjork, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry and Antibalas to Headline Edmonton, AB Music Festival

(Edmonton) – The sixth annual Up and Downtown Music Festival (UP+DT 2018) has announced the first batch of 2018 performers, taking place Friday, October 5 to Sunday, October 7, 2018. Ten venues in downtown Edmonton will collaborate to host over 100 performers that celebrate independent music.
Confirmed performers for UP+DT 2018 include: Tanya Tagaq, Lee “Scratch” Perry, SUUNS, Destroyer, Brant Bjork (full band and DJ set), Antibalas, Earthless, Mauno, Thao (of Thao & The Get Down Stay Down), Zeal & Ardor, Radio Moscow, Michale Graves of The Misfits, Jonathan Richman, Astronoid, Language Arts, Too Attached, Common Holly, The Maybellines (20th anniversary reunion show), Mad Alchemy, Poor Nameless Boy, The Velveteins, and Jody
Shenkarek. UP+DT 2018 will also see two live podcast tapings with Vancouver’s Stop Podcasting Yourself, and The Greatest Generation Podcast (in partnership with Nerd Nite Edmonton).
Additional artist announcements will be released throughout the coming weeks, while the festival’s schedule will be revealed in late-August.
Venues collaborating for UP+DT 2018 include 9910, CKUA Radio Performance Hall, Downtown Edmonton Community League Office, Freemason Hall, McDougall United Church, Rocky Mountain IceHouse, Temple, Knoxville’s Tavern, Cask & Barrel and Starlite Room.
All-access festival passes are on sale through YEGLive.ca and in-person at Blackbyrd Myoozik (10442 Whyte Avenue) starting Friday, June 15 at 10:00am.
Three-day All-access Pass: $95 (until Aug.31/18, while quantities last); Regular – $115.
Day 1 Pass – Friday, October 5: $52.50
Day 2 Pass – Saturday, October 6: $52.50
Single Show Tickets range from $10 – $35, with limited shows on sale starting Friday, June 15 at 10:00am. The remaining single show tickets will be released in late-August, in conjunction with the festival’s schedule.
