Originally known as Mornington Drive, Born Ruffians were established in Midland, Ontario in 2002. With Luke LaLonde on vocals and guitar, Mitch DeRosier on vocals and bass, and Steve Hamelin on drums, Born Ruffians delivers sounds of indie-rock while incorporating witty and catchy lyrics. After moving from Midland to Toronto in 2004, the band solidified the name change to Born Ruffians and quickly established a positive reputation in the music scene. They were signed onto labels including Warp Records, XL Recordings, and Paper Bag. Born Ruffians’ first EP, which was self-titled, was released in 2006. A couple of years later, they finished their first full-length album, Red Yellow & Blue. In 2010, Andy Lloyd joined the band on guitar and keyboard. In more recent years, the band saw several changes, including two new full-length albums, “Birthmarks” and “Ruff”, as well as Adam Hindle replacing Steve Hamelin on the drums
