Having formed a little over three years ago, the boys of Vancouver’s Summering got their start jamming together when a visiting friend’s band needed an opener. With all members involved in various other projects —from folk to electronic— they joined forces to create an ad hoc group that ended up being so much more. All members of the band (with the exception of Zachary Treble who hails from Winnipeg) are originally from Alberta, infusing some of that good ol’ “big, desolate open plains” Alberta moodiness with their rumbling three-guitar undercurrent and poignant, self-aware lyrics. Their songs are layered equal parts grunge, post-rock, and psychedelic, and their show is something you definitely won’t want to miss.
