19 Aug Up and Downtown Music Festival Announces One Night Show
For one-night only, Up and Downtown Music Festival presents Michael Rault, The Velveteins and more
August 19, 2019
(Edmonton) – The Up and Downtown Music Festival (UP+DT) is entering its seventh festival year with a one night banger to pay tribute to the past, and celebrate the future of the fall festival.
For one night only – October 12, 2019 – a handful of UP+DT festival favourites and a few fresh faces will take over the stage at Freemason’s Hall (10318 100 Avenue). Confirmed artists for the 2019 Show include psych-pop Edmonton ex-pat Michael Rault, surf-psych rockers The Velveteins, hazy garage foursome Dead Friends, and emerging local female alt-rock trio Desert Rose.
Known for bringing electrifying acts to the Downtown core over the Thanksgiving long weekend, this show offers a small taste of what to expect of UP+DT in 2020. While it was announced that 2019 would be a transition year for UP+DT, the dedicated volunteer festival board has been working behind the scenes to produce an even better festival moving forward. “The new board is excited to be presenting this next version of UP+DT,” says Michael Sambir, UP+DT Executive Director. “Our commitment to presenting young, emerging artists in downtown venues contributes to a thriving arts and music scene in Edmonton, and supports a vibrant downtown. We are looking forward to programming an entire weekend of incredible artists in 2020.”
Tickets are $15 in advance, on sale now through YEGLive.ca or through the UP+DT Facebook event page. Or $20 at the door, all ages welcomed. This is a licensed event with refreshments provided by Sea Change Brewing Co.
